Raw Juice and Real Estate

So what exactly does raw juicing and Real Estate all have in common?

As I’ve probably never once mentioned, I am a part time Realtor. It’s a pretty matter-of-fact job and it’s not all that exciting. In fact, these past few months have down right sucked every last bit of energy out of me. Most recently, I have been representing some old friends on the purchase of a house. We made an offer after about 6 months of looking. It was accepted. 30 days to close – standard stuff.

That was in January.

We still haven’t closed. You guys, the thing with Real Estate is, no matter how amazing you are, you still have to work with another agent, usually. The listing agent of the particular home my clients are interested in happens to be the biggest, dumbest, most aloof, clown-like person I have ever met. I just… I can’t. I’m trying to keep it anonymous and mostly PC because I know how internetting works. But mostly, there are just no words.

Had this deal been for anyone else I would have insisted on walking away. But they really want this house, and all crappiness aside, this will end up being an amazing deal once we are done with the most insane deal I’ve ever worked. My broker agrees. The mortgage broker agrees. People who I elaborate with details to all say the same thing, “Holy crap. I had no idea someone so terrible could have a license!” Yes, they can! And if you aren’t good, or your agent isn’t good – you could end up buying one lemon of a house. Especially if, as is this case, the defunct Realtor is representing defunct investors who are flipping a property for the first time ever. They are about 2 years too late to the flipping game. Now they are scrambling, cutting corners, making illegal decisions, and breaking contracts left and right. Their agent isn’t helping because he is just as aloof. So I’ve basically been running both sides of this deal. They have given me the phone numbers of their contractors, so *I* can tell them how to do this all properly. What kind of craziness is that? But I love my friends, so I’m trying to make it work.

Mind blown? No? Because it was too long and you didn’t read? I don’t blame you. Short version: Real Estate sucks. I don’t have the patience for it, and this deal has really burned me.

Plus! There is now a serial rapist running around FL meeting female Realtors and pretending to be looking for a house (Seriously, look!).

… And I’m done. Or I at least need a long break, and I guess that is the good thing about working for yourself. When you burn out, you can back off for a bit (I recognize this is only truly possible because of my loving, understanding and also employed hubby).

So all of this, plus other issues have made 2014 blow so far.

So! I decided to treat myself!

I decided to do a 3 day raw juice cleanse, from this local place: http://www.rawjuce.com/

This is 2 days worth of everything I ingested (plus a ton of water). Day 1 was all ready in mah belly when I took this pic:

3 Day Juice Cleanse

So I spent 3 days filling my body with good things like this:

Juce Cleanse Greenergy

How did I feel after? Meh. Day 1 and 2 were easy, but day 3 killed me. I was SO HUNGRY. I was eying my toddler’s food with much desire.

But hubby did it with me, so we stuck it out together.

(He may or may not have brought home cookies on the final night of the fast. We may or may not have eaten them all.)

Post Cleanse Cookies

Overall, I don’t think I’d do the cleanse again. Now, I will be honest and say I did have a cold during it, so that may have been what zapped all my energy. I have health-nut friends who swear you have to do 7 days, and it’s only after day 3 that you feel any result. I don’t know if I have that kind of will power. I like to eat.

All I know is after 3 days I didn’t feel any better, healthier, stronger, more energetic, etc. I just felt done. So Done.

After the cleanse I learned that there is a completely different health camp that is anti-juicing and pro-green-smoothies. The argument being that juicing removes so much of the pulp from the fruits and veggies, and that pulp is where the majority of the vitamins, antioxidants, micro-nutrients and magic health glitter is stored. So maybe I will try that next…. in a long time from now.

Hi there! This is my little blog project where I am trying to learn more about health, wellness and living a balanced life, while also sharing a bit of my silly side as well. By "silly" I mean sarcastic. And by "a bit" I mean way too much. Sorry about that.♥ - Anna
