Thankful About Being too Busy to Tell You How Thankful I Am

I’ve been trying to think of something meaningful, inspiring, or interesting to write about this week, but lets be honest, those are traits I do not easily come by when looking to write. I lean towards the snark side. But seeing as how tomorrow is Thanksgiving, I figured I should write something meaningful.

Honestly though, you know what I am most thankful for? The fact that this holiday week I have exactly no time to write anything on this little baby blog of mine.

I have no time because I spent Sunday through late Monday night camping at Bahia Honda State Park in the Florida Keys with my husband, son, brother, sister in law and their new, adorable puppy Stormy.

Rescue Dogs are the Best

I’m thankful that we were all able to fit in my trusty 10 year old Honda Element. All 4 adults, a toddler, a dog, and an over-packed trunk of camping gear. I’m also thankful that we had a great time even when the weather turned on us.

I’m thankful that last night my parents, who live a whole 15 minutes away, were able and willing to babysit Seb last minute, so hubby and I could go out on a date and eat a wonderful meal and watch The Hunger Games (loved it!).

I’m thankful that today I am buried in housework. Our house is full of stinky camping gear and clothes, dirty floors, disgusting bathrooms, unmade beds, cat hair tumbleweeds, and toddler toys strewn about. It means we have been too busy living, and have not had time to tidy up. Toddler toys mean a happy, active toddler and cat hair is small price to pay for the 2 most adorable, cuddly and loyal cats in the world.

No, really, L-O-Y-A-L. They must be near us at all times. Alllll times…

I’m thankful that the reason I’m on a tight cleaning deadline is because it means tomorrow my sweet mother-in-law is driving in from the other coast and will be staying with us. It means Seb will get to drink in the love that his grandmaman gushes over him any time she gets to see him.

Seb and GrandmamanI’m thankful that tomorrow my brother and sister-in-law that live a whole 10 minutes away will be hosting Thanksgiving in their new, awesome house and that my parents, my mother-in-law, my sister-in-law’s parents, some friends, 2 dogs and a toddler will all be there. I’m thankful that we all really do get along and will be filling that place full of joy, gratitude and calories. So. Many. Calories.

I’m also thankful that hubby and I have a tradition of making a very unhealthy breakfast on the mornings of major holidays. Tomorrow is this:

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you are just as swamped with things to be thankful for.

Hi there! This is my little blog project where I am trying to learn more about health, wellness and living a balanced life, while also sharing a bit of my silly side as well. By "silly" I mean sarcastic. And by "a bit" I mean way too much. Sorry about that.♥ - Anna
